The Department of orthopaedic dentistry was organized in 1979 on the basis of the docent course. The first head of the Department was candidate of medical Sciences, associate Professor Duishaliev Kasymbay Duishaliev (1979-1986)

From 1986 to 1999, the Department was headed by Doctor of medical Sciences, Professor Sultanbaeva Salamat Lukmanova .

From 1999 to 2007 the Department was headed by Candidate of Medicine, associate Professor Sadykov Sabyrzhan Altaevich .

From 2007 to 2008 acting head of the Department was appointed Candidate of Medicine, associate Professor Kalbaev Abibilla Okbutaevich.

In 2008 Amireev Ubaidillah Amirbaevich was appointed as an acting head of the Department 

From 2008 to 2012 the Department was headed by Doctor of medical Sciences  Abdymomunov Abdukhalil Omirbaevich.

From 2012 till present - the head of the Department is Doctor of medical Sciences, prof Kalbaev Abibilla Okbutaevich.
