The Student Personnel Department was established in 1996 and was subordinated to the Educational and Methodological Department, which was headed by K.O. Orozobaev.
The head of the student personnel department (from 1997 to 2004) was
Chernova Irina Yurievna.
Since 2004, the student personnel department has been a structural unit of KSMA and the head was (from 2004 to 2007) Roza Iskakovna Dzhumagulova.
In 2007 the department was reorganized into "Sector of Personnel Work with Students", in 2013 the Sector of Personnel Work with Students was transformed into "Sector of Student Records Management", which was a structural subdivision of the Department of Personnel, Legal Work and Records Management.
Since 2016, in connection with the introduction of a new structure of I.K. Akhunbaev KSMA, the sector of student records management became an independent structural subdivision.
In order to improve personnel record keeping on students, in accordance with the current organisational and management documents of the KR and the change of the structure of I.K. Akhunbaev KSMA in 2022 "Student Records Management Sector" was renamed into "Student Records Management Department".

General information
The department's activity goal is the centralization of work related to maintaining students' personnel documents, statistical accounting of student body, monitoring their movements, and managing personal records.
To achieve the set goal, the department accomplishes the following tasks:
- Personal and statistical accounting of the student body, maintaining office work.
- Organization of maintaining and storing students' personal records.
- Ensuring the authenticity of documents submitted by students (educational documents, references from social services, medical certificates, etc.).
- Centralization concerning the issuance and maintenance of students' personal records, as well as registration and issuance of state-standard documents.
Preparation, in collaboration with the structural units of the academy, of necessary materials and proposals regarding incoming documents and letters, within its competence.
