Head of the Department of Family Medicine (Postgraduate Education) of the Medical Academy of Kyrgyzstan named after I.K. Akhunbaeva, Doctor of Medical Sciences Nurlan Brimkulov recently visited the West Kazakhstan Medical University named after Marat Ospanov in the city of Aktobe as part of the mobility program between universities and gave lectures and also held classes on family medicine.

According to Nurlan Nurgazievich, along with lecturing and conducting clinical discussions with residents, other events were organized aimed at promoting the specialty of a family doctor as the most important, necessary and in demand, but at the same time the most difficult and time-consuming. For this, an essay competition and a conference were held, where residents in their speeches shared their dream of the future in their profession, spoke about the activities of the World Organization of Family Physicians WONCA and the youth movement of young family doctors Vasco Da Gama. It should be noted that in 1978 the historic Alma-Ata Declaration on Primary Health Care was adopted; Kazakhstan is considered the birthplace of modern family medicine all over the world. In order to strengthen the training of family doctors, this year in Kazakhstan it was decided to organize a 2-year residency in family medicine.

It was for the exchange of experience in postgraduate training in family medicine that a Kyrgyz professor was invited to Aktobe.
