The department trains clinical residents, including foreign citizens (in English) in the specialty "Radiology", after which they successfully pass the general state exams in their countries.

Currently, postgraduate students are being trained in the specialty "Ultrasound diagnostics". Certification courses for radiologists (MRI) and ultrasound diagnostics doctors have been developed and are being implemented.

Today, courses on primary specialization and training of ultrasound specialists are being opened, as well as courses for the improvement of doctors of ultrasound diagnostics.

Scientific developments of the department are carried out in the following areas:

  • Radiation diagnostics in gastroenterology, urology, pulmonology, oncology, endocrinology, gynecology, neurology using high-tech radiation methods
  • Modern radiation diagnostics in dentistry and maxillofacial surgery using MRI, ultrasound, CT and cone-beam
  • Minimally invasive ultrasound-guided interventions in oncological practice.
  • Combined methods of treatment of malignant neoplasms of various localizations.
  • The staff of the department are initiators and participants of several scientific projects:
  • “Neuroimaging of cerebrovascular pathology and brain tumors, the current state of the problem in the Kyrgyz Republic. Improvement and prospects of early diagnosis and treatment of vascular and oncological diseases of the brain "
  • "Endosonography: a new level of diagnosis in the Kyrgyz Republic" Goals and objectives: Improving the early diagnosis of tumor and non-tumor diseases of the gastrointestinal tract.
  • Initiative project "Detection of pulmonary manifestations of Covid-19 by methods of radiation studies"
  • Initiative project on the topic: “Ultrasound diagnostics. High-quality higher education without borders "Purpose: promoting the mobility of the teaching staff of the Department of Radiation Diagnostics to participate in international scientific seminars, conferences, Olympiads, master classes, lectures abroad to present the results of their research to the international scientific community and increase the competitiveness of the university, get acquainted with the latest achievements of science and finding useful contacts.
