Department of Surgical Dentistry and Implantology FPMO KSMA named after A.I. I.K. Akhunbaev was organized on February 10, 2021. On June 1, 2023, the Department of Surgical Dentistry and Implantology of the FPME was renamed the Department of Clinical Dentistry and Implantology of the FPME.

The initiator and first head of the department is c.m.s., acting. Associate Professor Akylbekov Jamshid Iskenderovich.

The staff of the department performs educational and methodological work, including the development and implementation of educational methodology as well as, visual aids in the educational process, lecturing using multimedia presentations, and practicing practical skills for clinical residents. The main base of the department is the medical center of KSMA named after. I.K. Akhunbaev, where a clinic is equipped with four treatment rooms and a one-day hospital ward for two beds. The staff of the department and clinical residents conduct a joint reception of patients.

The teaching staff is represented by nineteen main employees, four of whom are candidates in medical sciences, three associate professors, two acting professors, and thirteen assistants, of which one employee holds a Ph.D.

Employees of the department devise educational videos about modern methods of surgical inventions in clinical practice. Teachers of the department improve their educational, pedagogical, and medical activities by participating in international conferences, congresses, and advanced training courses.

Educational and methodical work

In the 2023-2024 academic year, it is planned to complete the preparation of all documents on educational and methodological work. In this regard, all methodological developments for clinical residents and teachers have been revised and supplemented per the requirements of the regulations on the educational and methodological complex of the FSME KSMA.

Every year the department plans to release at least two methodological developments.

Scientific work

Active participation in the “Days of Science” of KSMA is planned. For this purpose, it is planned to prepare at least 2-3 scientific reports annually by clinical residents and graduate students.

For the 2021-2022 academic year, four scientific articles in periodicals in the Kyrgyz Republic and two articles outside the country were published. In subsequent years, the publication of scientific articles will be carried out according to the department’s plan for scientific work.

All employees of the department plan to actively participate in the scientific and practical conferences and congresses held under the auspices of the Dental Association of the Kyrgyz Republic and KSMA named after. I.K. Akhunbaeva.

Medical work

       After renovations were carried out in the 2021-2022 academic year in the educational building of the KSMA medical center, where our department is located, all rooms were brought into compliance with sanitary and hygienic requirements. All employees, starting from the new academic year and in the future, must perform therapeutic work. From 2021 to the present, all employees of the department undergo advanced training courses in their specialty per the plan of the department.

Masterclasses on various topics are planned annually.

The contracts with MGMSU are named after. A.I. Evdokimov and with public and private dental institutions on mutual cooperation. Experienced doctors are involved in teaching activities as well as mentoring the clinical residents.
