Regulations on the organization of academic mobility of students and employees

Registration & Visa

Incoming international students should obtain a student visa in order to arrive, stay and study in Kyrgyzstan. A study visa is given for 1 year and is extended at Passport & Visa Department of KSMA every year.

According current legislation, citizens of some countries are free of receiving visa before their arrival to Kyrgyzstan. Below is a list of countries for whose citizens are visa-free regime operates and terms of such regime is active:

Citizens of above-mentioned countries just buy tickets to Kyrgyzstan, arrive and get special stamps on their passport.

BUT, after visa-free period is expired, international students should receive a visa and be registered. 

To get a visa the following documents are required:

 

 

An official fee for receiving visa is 10 USD. Fees are paid in any branch of RSK Bank.

Health & Insurance

Outgoing KSMA students participating in international mobility programs

KSMA students participating in international mobility programs can arrange international insurance in national insurance companies, which provides them with health coverage in any country they arrive.

Outgoing students can choose any insurance company acting in Kyrgyzstan. 

How to get an insurance certificate?

1. Choose any appropriate insurance company.

2. Read carefully their coverage and benefits  of the policy

2. Fill out the insurance questionnaire and sign contract, which indicates the amount and the bank account to make the payment.

3. In the term of 2 days an insurance certificate of the insurance company will be received.

4. During the stay, carry the certificate of coverage on top. It is recommended to leave a copy of the policy coverage certificate to a contact person in the country of origin. Keep in mind the contact phone number of the insurer.

Cost

The amount of the insurance premium depends on the age, purpose of the trip, territory and insurance period.

Additional information

The insurance is hired for period of maximum one year

This policy can not be extended to relatives of the student who is enrolled. Any of the relatives should made individual insurance policy.

In case of need of medical assistance, the beneficiary must contact the company.

Scheduled operations, manipulation and research are not covered by the insurance policy.

2. Incoming foreign students who take a stay at the KSMA in the framework of mobility programs.

The foreign students that make a stay at the KSMA in the framework of international programs of mobility and exchange have to subscribe an insurance that gives them health coverage and travel assistance. 

Requirements

The condition to be able to subscribe mobility insurance is to participate in international programs of mobility and exchange. 

How to get an insurance certificate?

If incoming foreign student have an international insurance policy, he or she may use it in case of an accident.  

Foreign students can also subscribe a private insurance policy. For this:

1. Choose an appropriate insurance company from the list. You can ask the Department of International Relations of KSMA for the list of insurance companies.

2. Fill out their application form and submit it to the corresponding academic secretary. 

3. Contract the insurance policy.

4. Submit a photocopy or scanned certificate of coverage of the contracted policy to KSMA’s corresponding department.

The contracting of the insurance must be done no later than 5 days after arrival.

Cost

The price is varies depending on the length of the trip. Minimal cost is 3 USD.

Additional information

The insurance to be hired maximum for period of one year.

This policy can not be extended to relatives of the student who is enrolled. Any of relatives should subscribe an individual insurance policy.

In case of need of medical assistance, the beneficiary must contact the company. 

This is a travel assistance policy that includes round trip trips and health care during your stay.

Accommodation within international mobility programs

KSMA offers an accommodation of international students incoming within international programs of mobility and exchange are in its own hostels.

KSMA has 6 hostels: 4 hostels placed in the territory of main campus and rest 2 hostels are near to the main campus.

Hostels are different for local students and for international students.

International students are suggested to live in the Hostel No.8 which is fully designed for foreign citizens.

To get an accommodation, incoming students should first contact an International Relations Office at the main campus, 2nd floor, room No. 77.

Also, international students have the right to rent and live in other hostels, flats and so on. But in such case students themselves are responsible for searching and paying for accommodation place.

Kyrgyzstan is multinational and multicultural country with more than 80 nationalities living here. And as in many countries of the world, we have a CouchSerfing services. With the aim of more effective and interesting exchange, KSMA can offer co-living with local students in host-families to incoming students.
