In the programme "Special Accent" on Radio Sputnik Kyrgyzstan, she noted that the KSMA plans to open a laboratory of excellence.

"Medicine is moving forward, and we need to keep up with the development of technology. But this cannot be done without training specialists, so the main task of the laboratory will be to train new specialities in genetics, immunology, bioengineering and other innovative areas. In the future, we plan to purchase equipment for diagnostics of oncological diseases and other devices, which will be used by freshly trained specialists. For now, we are expected to focus only on areas in demand among Kyrgyz people who have to go abroad for treatment because we don't have modern equipment," Dzhumalieva said.

There are also plans to conduct DNA tests in the future, she said.

"Today, studies to establish kinship or haplogroup are conducted abroad, there is no such opportunity in Kyrgyzstan. Therefore, after the training, equipment will be purchased that will make it possible to conduct genetic research, including DNA tests. By the way, the field of application of genetic research is not only medicine, but also such sciences as history, archaeology and others. We have grandiose plans, because, in fact, we are changing the structure and approach of the university to development. That is, KGMA will not only graduate students, but will also turn into a research centre with practical application of the latest developments," said the professor.
